Are you standing on your feet for hours on end nearly every day? Are you looking for a quality work boot that can be used all day long and can withstand plenty of abuse without falling apart after a few months? We may have the ideal work boot for you.
On our list of the most comfortable work boots for men this year, you’ll find a bit of anything: steel toe, moc toe, slip resistant, heat resistant, oil resistant, waterproof, lightweight, super durable or super comfortable, you name it, so that you can find the best work boot for you. But keep in mind, though, that the perfect boot does not exist, or does it?
7. EVER BOOTS “Weldor” Men’s Moc-Toe Construction Work Boots
The Ever Boots Weldor is a pair of great moc-toe work boots that won’t cost an arm and a leg and are super comfortable. The leather is incredibly soft out of the box, they fit like a glove, and they are usually true to size but many users recommend ordering ½ size smaller. The thickness of the leather is just right and the grip of the outsole is unexpectedly great for the price.
This model is very similar to Thorogoods, but they won’t require a break in period. They feature a Goodyear welt built so that you don’t have to worry about sole replacement. All in all, these boots are great value for the price.
6. TIMBERLAND PRO Men’s “Pit Boss” Steel-Toe
The Timberland PRO Pit Boss work boots are rugged and yet comfortable with a steel toe that will help you work long strenuous hours without worrying about your toes’ safety. The leather is thick, moderately breathable (we do not recommend them for really hot environments, though) and the soles have tons of grip. What’s more, once they break in, they are surprisingly comfortable for such a rugged construction.
These boots come with a sock liner that is completely removable if you are prone to blisters, and the inner lining sports two anti-microbial treatments for you not to worry about nasty odors. All in all, this is the perfect choice for every hard working American in high-risk or safety-sensitive environments.
5. Skechers Men’s “Mariner” Utility Boot
Skechers Men’s Mariner utility boots are a pair of good-looking casual ankle boots that hold up well on concrete and other rugged surfaces. The break-in period is smoother than in most work boots and the medium and wide fit models offer a roomier toe box for extra comfort. These are a great pair of boots for people walking or standing a lot, but some users have found them a bit tall to their taste.
The soles have excellent grip and the boots are fairly mud- and water-resistant. If you have wide feet, stay away from the M width sizes as they may be too narrow. Check out the Skechers’ men’s size chart first, as the brand’s products are not always true to size.
4. TIMBERLAND PRO Men’s “Hyperion” XL
Here’s a pair of work boots that have been designed to reach a balance between comfort, durability, and safety without sacrificing any of these over the other. The Timberland PRO Hyperion features a patented anti-fatigue technology and lots of cushioning in key areas for maximum comfort, shock absorption, and support when standing for long hours on your feet. According to one happy customer, wearing these boots is comparable to ‘walking on pillows.’
The boots are also 100% waterproof, and the fabric comes with antimicrobial properties to fight off nasty smells. But the icing on the cake is the XL alloy safety toe, which is just as good as a steel toe, but twice as light weight. The toe cap is extremely roomy, which is why the boot features ‘XL’ in its moniker. All and all, these are a great pair of safety work boots for those of us standing long hours, working in risky settings, or in wet conditions.
3. EVER BOOTS “Tank” Men’s Soft Toe Work Boots
We were surprised to find such high-quality work boots at this price point, but the EVER BOOTS “Tank” work boots are real and ultra-comfortable. The Tank is a dependable all-round boot that comes straight out of the box comfortable and in most cases is a perfect fit. The boots are incredibly soft yet tough and can hold up to tons of heavy duty use while keeping your feet happy for hours on end.
The leather is high-quality and easy to oil and maintain. What’s more, these work boots are oil- and slip-resistant, but lack a safety toe. All in all, they are some very well-made boots, supremely comfortable, and for the price, they’re a steal!

2. Caterpillar Men’s “Second Shift” Steel Toe Work Boots
Just like CAT machinery, these classic work boots were build to get the job done and withstand plenty of abuse while still remaining serviceable. They are a nice-looking pair of boots that are tough, reliable, and very comfortable. The break-in period is almost non-existent, and with minimum maintenance, these boots can be worn all day long for years to come. The level of comfort is exceptional and there’s no need to add inserts. What’s more, breathability is excellent as they are cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Plus, the boots offer great ankle support and grip, they sport a steel toe, and offer Electric Hazard protection. All in all, they’re a nice pair of heavy-duty work boots that you’ll simply fall in love with. You can check out our full review of these bad boys here.
1. RED WING “Irish Setter” Moc Toe Work Boot
The Irish Setter by Red Wing was clearly designed for comfort. It is lightweight, needs no break-in time, and the sole provides plenty of cushioning and shock absorption to keep your feet in top shape through a tough work day. According to some users, these pups are even more comfortable than similar big brand names, including caterpillars and thorogoods.
What’s more, the outsole is heat-resistant which makes these boots excellent for jobs that involve standing a lot on hot surfaces like hot roofs or hot tar. The quality of the construction is out of this world, the leather is premium quality, and they are extremely good looking. If you are looking for a pair of comfy work boots that will prevent your feet from getting sore from all that standing or walking, you can’t go wrong with these. And if you’d like to enjoy the Irish Setters’ comfort and the peace of mind associated with a steel safety toe, check out the steel-toed version here.
